Eric Oduro Osae (Republic of Ghana)
Dr. Osae is a highly accomplished professional with over 26 years of experience in auditing, Governance, Risk, Internal Controls and Public Financial Management (PFM). He is the Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) of the Republic of Ghana.
He holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Political Economy and a Master of Laws degree with a specialization in Law and Development. He graduated from the Ghana School of Law as the best student in the Law of Taxation and chairs various Audit Committees including the State Interests and Governance Authority of Ghana, Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law. He also serves on the audit committees of key governance institutions including the Parliamentary and Judicial Services of Ghana.
As a Lawyer, Chartered Accountant, Auditor and Governance Expert, he has served on numerous committees and advisory boards, both locally and internationally, contributing to reforms in public sector auditing, anti-corruption measures, and decentralized governance in Ghana. He has played a pivotal role in modernizing Ghana's public sector internal audit system, implementing global standards, and establishing audit committees for nearly all public institutions.
His expertise extends to international advisory roles, including serving as a UN Governmental Expert on Anti-Corruption and a Technical Advisor on Governance for Ghana's Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. Dr. Osae is also an accomplished academic, having published and presented over 100 papers and authored a widely used book on fiscal decentralization.
His work reflects a commitment to sustainable development, transparent governance and inter-generational equity. With a passion for institutional development and legal reforms, he continues to influence governance and financial management practices globally.
